Cape Town just around the bend!

I am currently in Springbok, South Africa with five days in the saddle between me and Cape Town. I am so excited to see the ocean again, but sad that my simple daily existance involving two wheels and a bowl of porridge is coming to an end.

The riding is finally getting more hilly, the scenery is beautiful, the bike is still running and my legs still working.

Bring on the salt water!

Comments:
You can do it! I've been following along the whole time (well, as best as I can virtually with your blog posts and Google Earth). It still boggles my mind how far you've ridden already. I'm not sure if I will ride 12000 km throughout my entire life -- but now I kinda want to... :)

I'm going to be selfish and say that I'm excited for you to be finished just so that I can see all your pictures and hear even more of your adventures. I don't know when you'll be in London, but please let me know!
Have fun in Capetown!

Push hard to the finish bud! Or just cruise and enjoy the ride - you deserve it! By the way the divas (renamed the Salomon Bobkittens by Trish) came in 4th overall this weekend at Deerhurst. Pete, Simon, and Tyson won, Beowolf second, SRS 3rd and then us....I know you were dying to find out the results....miss you and can't wait to see you.

congrats on finishing up! some buddies and I are gearing up to go cape to nairobi by public transport, then fly the rest of the way to cairo.

Turn around! Go back! Cairo to... almost Cape Town and back to Cairo!!

Thanks Rene! I can't wait to take a look at Google Earth myself to see what I can recognize.

Hehe, thanks Kristin! I can't wait to look at my pictures myself. I've taken about 4000 so far but haven't looked at them on a good screen yet. I'll have to learn to curb my story telling after this one. I'm normally pretty bad when I don't have an experience like this to talk about!

Thanks Lee! Racing just doesn't seem worth it with my last couple days of scenery to soak in. With that said, the last racing day will certainly be a hammer day though!

Uh-oh, did Benoit do it blindfolded with his legs and arms tied together? Great work!

Thanks Evan! I hope you get a chance to stop a lot along the way. The scenery sure is amazing and the people are great to stop and talk to!

...back to Cairo? Not a bad idea!
